　　 在网上找到一篇《搭轻轨地铁洛城一日游》。我就在洛杉矶市中心找到地铁(Metro Rail) red line，跟着那篇攻略玩了一天，印证了它的路线的可行性和可玩性。

　　 地铁red line从Union Station出发，终点站是North Hollywood。首先要找到Union Station，然后买一张5块钱的day pass，就可以开始一天的行程了。

　　 Union Station本身就是一个值得参观的地方。它的外形是西班牙的教堂式建筑，非常雄伟。穿过候车厅的时候正好瞧一瞧里面，据说很多电影在这里拍摄。

　　 出了候车厅，过马路到对面的Olvera Str.上有个墨西哥街，不大的地方摆了好多小摊档，卖墨西哥民俗工艺品，也有墨西哥餐厅，露天的餐厅里还有人现场弹唱墨西哥民乐。很有风情。此外街上还有一间叫Avila Adobe的古老民宅，可免费参观，里面反映了早期加州有钱人的生活。

　　 返回Union Station，找到地铁red line，经过两站到达Pershing Square Station，这里就是LA的downtown. LA好在地铁站出口处都有详细的地图，指引你地面的方向，找到你想去参观的地方。downtown里有好多很豪华很有特色的酒店，比如20年代的Millennium Biltmore Hotel。可惜我找不到行人的入口，没有进去参观。

　　 我去看了Angels Flight Railway，看介绍说它可能是世界上最短的真正用于载客的铁轨。可惜现在关闭了，说是年底再重开。只能看到它坡度很大的像滑梯一般的铁轨。

　　 Downtown可参观的展览馆和市政厅就多了，我本来就是打算在这呆一天的，结果现代艺术馆M.O.C.A周二周三不开门，就干脆作罢。只在外头看看市中心的建筑和小公园。M.O.C.A对面就是Walt Disney Concert Hall.

　　 逛完一圈，返回地铁站，搭上开往North Hollywood方向的red line。注意不要搭成purple line，他们前面几个站是重合的。坐几个站以后到Hollywood/Vine站下车。

　　 这个车站本身就值得一看，车站内的雕刻反映30年代好莱坞初始剧院的历史，车站的天花板是用电影胶卷装饰的。

　　 走出车站，看好地图，沿着Hollywood Blv.的那条星光大道(Hollywood Walk of Fame)一直往西走。一开始还留意一下地上的星星上面的人名，后来发现没有一个认识，就放弃了。这条路很长，有不少好莱坞纪念品商店，还有餐厅、咖啡馆，还会经过Wax Museum，和它对面的恐怖乐园。

　　 一直往西走见到柯达剧院，那才是游人最聚集的地方。剧院外面有人穿着戏服和你拍照（当然你要相应给点tips），也有人在卖牒。其中一个“蝙蝠侠”，我在他上班路上正好遇到，还被他突然从背后走出来吓了一跳，大家对望了几眼，没出声；后来在剧院前面再见到时才打了招呼，我看到他下巴的豆大的汗珠不停往下掉。

　　 剧院走进去有广场，可以买吃的买穿的。据说在高处还能看到远山上Hollywood那几个大字，不过我是没留意到在哪，可惜了。

　　 柯达剧院旁边就是中国剧院，那里就是有很多名人手印脚印和签名的地方，你会看到很经典的游客把手按在地上对手印拍照的情景。

　　 柯达剧院前面就是地铁站Hollywood/Highland。坐上地铁一站就到了Universal City. 出站以后过个马路，在Universal City Plaza前面有免费的Shuttle，把游客送到Universal Studio和Universal Citywalk。主题公园我是没进去了，那个能玩一天。在Citywalk上走走倒也很不错，那里给我的感觉就是怪和大。商店门面的装修和摆出来的吸引眼球的东西就是奇奇怪怪又巨大。

　　 逛完以后重新坐上Shuttle回到plaza，再坐上地铁，到达最后一站North Hollywood。出站就是Noho Arts District，据说这个艺术区有画廊、咖啡馆和艺术表演剧场，可是不知道是我时间不对还是走的方向不对，我没看到几个画廊，唯一见到的一个那天也闭馆，其他商店剧场馆子也是要么闭门要么门庭冷落，反倒是健身中心有不少。我看到的这里的特色仅仅是人行横道是彩色的。

　　 5块钱可以在一天内无限次搭乘地铁和Metro的公交车，而洛杉矶的特色地方也基本游了个遍，很高性价比亚。吃饭的地方到处都有。出站就有地图很方便。

　　 如果有时间还可以坐到Sunset Blv.看日落，据说很不错。不过我一个人是不敢在市区呆得太晚，据闻太阳下山后这里还是不太安全的。

Train is clean, easy to access, easy for people carrying many luggage.
The ticket purchase is super-easy if you have the national identification card. And, I could get the ticket right before the train starts.
The trains I was on had over 95% of their seats seated. Not bad at all!

On an over continent plane, I started playing a game which has been on my iPad since day 1, but I had never touched it after the installation trial. It is called "Field Runners", from Subatomic Studios. Oh man, I really like this strategy game: well polished, play nicely on iPad, and it is addictive!

After playing for a while, I feel it is the time to write a little summary.

• Offense is the best Defense. Build powerful weapons as earlier as possible. But whether to upgrade it, or build a new one depends on the battle situation.
• Runners on the field is relatively easy to deal with, but not fast moving airplanes or trains. Place heavy weapons on their paths, or anticipated paths. When the battle starts, and you find that the weapon power is not enough (a good estimate is when they halfway through the field, 50% of them should be killed), sell some weapons to build new ones or upgrade the existing ones.
• Use the cheapest weapon, gun, to build walls and route the runners to go through the heavily weaponed area, ideally multiple times.
• Switch the gate position to re-route the runners, especially on the early stage when you have very limited resource. Saving heart/life is much more important than saving money.
• Tesla Tower or Mortar Tower is powerful, but not good enough against mass runners. Flame Tower is good against mass runners. Laser Tower is good against mass runners, when built wisely. Build Laser Towers in line to max their effect.
• I think the MudSlide is the most difficult map. Place Laser Towers wisely, move them when needed, and a lot of fully upgraded Goo Towers. In some battles, I guide the runners to trigger the Laser Towers (to increase their firing frequency) when against fast running trains.
• For CrossRoads, SkyWay, FrostBite and Crystal Caves, there is an obvious key area, put all your weapons there. Guide your enemies pass THE zone, again and agin; until they die all...

Here is show-off, captured right before the victories.

Below are screen captures over time, when I was playing "Hard, MudSide" classic mode. With extended or endless mode, I have the choice to build Flame Towers, which actually makes the map easier to battle.

Several scores... not high, just to show-off the victory.
