Before install this small application

(iPad cannot charge, photo by HTC EVO 4G, uploaded directly to this post via WordPress android app)

After the installation, I rebooted the system as requested. Now, the iPad is charging

(screen capture on iPad, uploaded directly to this post via WordPress iPad app) Btw, how to do screen capture on android device without root? Drocap2 needs root :-(

Not only Asus, MSI and Gigabyte have released their tools as well.

For me, the most wanted tool is from Lenovo for its "old" laptops. As shown in this post, new thinkpad laptops have shipped with yellow/powered USB ports. But for "old" thinkpad - T60, x61, etc; iPad cannot be charged / or at least, the display says it is not charging. Over the interenet, some people think that even though the display says it is not charging, it is actually charging very very slowly; which means, evently iPad will be charged. But, I agree with some other people's opinion, for laptop USB ports that are not designed to charge mobile devices - indicated by iPad's not-charging-notification, it is highly likely that if charging it is draining the power from laptop's battery, but not directly from the power-let. It is kind stupid to wasting one expensive li-ion battery to save another cheap li-ion battery.

By the way, PC World has a post titled "The IPad's Charging Challenge Explained", which you might want to have a look.
