I address you tonight not as the President of the United States, not as a leader of a country, but as a citizen of humanity. We are faced with the very gravest of challenges. The Bible calls this day 'armageddon' - the end of all things. And yet, for the first time in the history of the planet, a species has the technology to prevent its own extinction. All of you praying with us tonight need to know that everything that can be done to prevent this disaster is being called into service. The human thirst for excellence, knowledge; every step up the ladder of science; every adventurous reach into space; all of our combined technologies and imaginations; even the wars that we've fought have provided us the tools to wage this terrible battle. Through all of the chaos that is our history; through all of the wrong and the discord; through all of the pain and the suffering; through all of our times, there is one thing that has nourished our souls, and elevated our species above its origins, and that is our courage. The dreams of an entire planet are focused tonight on those fourteen brave souls traveling into the heavens. And may we, citizens the world over, see these events through. God speed, and good luck to you.
Good morning, good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join the others from among the world, and you will be launching the largest aerial battle in history of mankind.Mankind, that word, should have new meaning for all of us today. We can't be consumed by our petty difference any more, we should unite on our common interests. Perhaps it's fate that today is July 4th, and you will again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression and perse - cution, but from annihilation. And should we win the day, July 4th will be no longer known as an American holiday, but the world declared in one voice "We will not go quietly into the night, we will not vanish without a fight. We will continue to exist, we will survive." Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!
My dear Americans, this is the last time I spoke to you, disaster will come, and our country and the world will be died out, I really wish I can tell you that we have the ability to resist the disaster, but we do not have that today ...... we will be a people's common into the dark, although we may believe different, but I believe that my words can represent all of the ideas, like God bless us.
As a nation, how we are going to handle this crisis?
Are we going to allow this earthquake to shake the foundations of our spirit,
our community,
and the ties that bind us all together?
Or are we all going to come together as a nation,
neighbor,
helping neighbor?
Until each and every person is safe and unharmed.
I believe in my heart,
we have the strength and courage to survive this calamity together.
Join me now as we face this challenge....
Though this event was a tragedy,
it is also a wake up call.
We are not the masters of this planet.
We are just one of the many species that happens to be in this place as our ancestors called mother earth.
Although the cities and the buildings may fall,
as long as we hold true to the virtues and sacred to everyone of us,
as long as we have faith,
we will prevail,
we will endure!
合在一起,放这里。
这些话,很煽动人的;这就是美国的爱国主义教育。
中国的电影里面也有很多感人的讲话,直接跳入脑海的是“为了胜利 向我开炮”……
