I installed succsesfully mac osx 10.5.1 kalway on my IBM T43 2668-94U. I can install osx without to shorten pin 6 and 12.The problem is that video does not work.Of course I tried also to short out pin 6 and 12 but it is the same.It works on resolution 1400x1050 and everything is done like in these tutorial. So the only diference is that installation can be done without paperclip
and video does not work. Grafik is Ati x300. Thank you for answer.

Go with XxX 10.4.11 Rev 2. Best install I've ever had on my T42: everything works out of the box except for spotlight crashing (disabled it) and not being able to boot on battery (working on it). The hardware support surprised me.

I'm using it now with speedstep on my SSE2 and it's great.

The fix for the ethernet problem, which is due to the 00:00:00:00:00:00 setting in the physical address.

"The mac address of the ethernet is default to 00:00:00:00:00:00 and needs to be manually changed to your address using: sudo ifconfig en0 ether {ur mac address}"

one more issue:
after login, the trackpoint and the three buttons associated is not working. Only the touchpad and the two buttons below works. Why??

I just update the system, except the 536MB "Mac OS X Update Combined 10.5.3".
Since the mac osx is a certified unix system and I have been using linux operation system for years, I will really familiar when I start these tweaking ......
